MANAGEMENT INSTRUCTOR
POSITION:
Full-time, nine-month, annual renewable, faculty position. Employment begins on August 17, 2009. Responsibilities include teaching Principles of Management, Supervision & Leadership, Operations Management, Human Resource Management, and other management courses. Additional responsibilities include working with the SIFE Club, student advising, and committee work.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Master's degree in Management, Marketing, or related field earned by August 17, 2009; and possesses computing skills in MS Windows environment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Doctorate degree in Management, Marketing, Finance, or related field; two years of related work or teaching experience; and university teaching experience.

GOLF AND TURF MANAGEMENT LECTURER
POSITION: Nine-month term lecturer position starting August 24, 2009 in the Natural Resources Department at the Crookston campus of the University of Minnesota. This position provides instruction and leadership to the baccalaureate degree program in golf and turf management. In addition, the position supports other campus instructional needs in horticulture, natural resources, agronomy, soils, and environmental science depending upon expertise. Salary will depend on qualifications and experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES: (1) Provide instruction in Golf and Turf Management and related areas as determined by qualifications and interest, (2) Advise students in course selection, career planning, and club activities (3) Provide leadership for program growth, (4) Develop working relationships with the golf, turf, and landscaping industry to assist with internship and permanent job placement.(4) Promote the development of transfer programs with related 2-year college programs (5) Develop an appropriate research and/or outreach program in candidate’s area of expertise (6) Work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary faculty whose focus is the practical application of knowledge and technology.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Ph.D. , ABD, or M.S. in turfgrass science, horticulture, plant sciences, agronomy, environmental sciences or a related field with a turfgrass management emphasis. Record of successful teaching at the college level or in comparable extension or continuing education. Evidence of ability to build and secure external funding for a successful research and outreach program. Qualified to teach courses such as, turfgrass management, turf pests and diseases, as well as general courses in agronomy/soils, horticulture, plant pathology; depending on qualifications. Strong interpersonal & communication skills; ability to relate complex concepts to diverse audiences, and committed to teamwork & interdisciplinary collaboration.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Successful record of management experience in the golf course and/or turfgrass industry; familiarity with golf course operations, maintenance, and equipment; ability to promote and manage a Golf and Turf Management program; and experience with computer-based instructional technologies.

QUALIFICATIONS:
A terminal degree in the discipline or related area and substantial professional recognition in the field is preferred. A Master’s degree or 18 graduate credits in the discipline or a related area and competence to teach the material of the specific course is required. In special circumstances, for particular courses, an individual with a baccalaureate degree and experience and competence to teach the course may be hired.
