News Update - November 13, 2006

The University's management team met with the UEA bargaining committee on November 10th and 11th at the Bureau of Mediation Services for our first mediation session. Mediation is a continuation of the negotiation process with the addition of a professional labor mediator, provided by the State, to assist the parties in working out remaining issues. The session went well and tentative agreement was reached on two more topics: Discipline and Holidays. The parties continued work and discussion on other topics.

The mediator will continue working with each side to facilitate the process. We hope to make more progress at the next mediation session, which is scheduled for December 18th and 19th in Crookston.
