Letter
regarding promotion and tenure procedures at UMC- October
10, 2005
Gary Westorff
Field Representative
University Education Association
639 E. Central Entrance
Duluth, MN 55811
Dear Gary,
I am writing concerning this year's Promotion
and Tenure process for
faculty members on the Crookston campus. As you may know, the
Promotion and Tenure review process consists of several steps,
beginning later this month and culminating with consideration
by the Board of Regents
in the Spring.
The University recognizes that certain members
of the Crookston
faculty are currently eligible for consideration and wishes to
honor its
commitment to consider their academic records during this academic
year.
Since the parties have not reached agreement on the applicable
procedure
for doing so, it is our intention to consider these faculty members
for
Promotion and Tenure in accordance with the existing policies
and
procedures for the Crookston campus.
If you wish to discuss this matter in greater
detail, please contact
me at your earliest convenience, but not later than October 21,
2005.
Sincerely,
Patti Dion
